FRC appoints board member to the AASB and acknowledges outgoing board members from the AASB and AUASB

The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) today announced the appointment of a member of the Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB).

Appointment to the AASB for 2020:

  • Mr David Holland, National Head of Technical Accounting, Moore Stephens Australia Pty Ltd.

This AASB appointment is on a part-time basis commencing from 1 January 2020 for three years.

Outgoing member from the AASB is:

  • Ms Taryn Rulton, Director, Financial and Business Transformation, La Trobe University.

The FRC and AASB thank Taryn for her contribution to the Board.

The AASB will re-advertise a possible vacancy to appoint an extra at large member in the first half of 2020. The possible at large member might have strategic, political, legal, valuation, or emerging issue skills that would assist the AASB consider issues likely to become important in the near future, or be a director or user of corporate, public sector or charity external reporting.

Outgoing member from the AUASB is:

  • Ms Robin Low, Non-Executive Director.

The FRC and AUASB thank Robin for her contribution to the Board.

The AUASB will re-advertise a vacancy to appoint a member working as a non-executive director of a large corporate or as a preparer of financial reports in the first half of 2020. Ideally this member would also have experience on an audit committee and have strong corporate governance skills.
