The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) welcomes the Government’s recent appointments of Ms Michele Embling, Ms Amy Fox and Ms Alison White as part‑time members to the FRC.

The FRC is a statutory body overseeing the effectiveness of the financial reporting framework in Australia and monitor the development of international accounting and auditing standards.

FRC member appointment

  • Michele Embling was reappointed as a part‑time Member of the FRC on 11 July 2024 and her term expires on 30 April 2025
  • Amy Fox was appointed as a part‑time Member of the FRC on 28 June 2024 and her term expires on 30 June 2026
  • Alison White was appointed as a part‑time Member of the FRC on 28 June 2024 and her term expires on 30 June 2026.

Ms Embling is the current Chair of the New Zealand External Reporting Board (XRB), which oversees New Zealand’s financial reporting frameworks and standards. The XRB plays a critical role in addressing climate change through the establishment of the New Zealand climate‑related disclosure standards.

Ms Fox is currently First Assistant Secretary of the Financial Reporting, Analysis and Management Division at the Department of Finance. She has responsibility for the Commonwealth consolidated financial statements, budget framework, financial and accounting policy, and importantly the stewardship of financial management across the Australian Public Service.

Ms White is a Partner and currently the leader of the National Accounting and Corporate Reporting Team in Deloitte’s Assurance and Advisory division which specialises in the interpretation of the accounting and sustainability standards.

These appointments continue the high level of skills and experience available to the FRC.
