Public Sector

The Committee has ceased. The FRC currently monitors public sector financial reporting and audit matters through its Public Sector Advisory Group.

In January 2013 the FRC made a submission, based on work undertaken by the Committee, to Monitoring Group Roundtable on the governance of public sector accounting standards.

In July 2012 the Committee assisted the FRC make a submission to the Public Consultation on the Monitoring Group Review and Public Interest Oversight Board Work Program.

In June 2011 the Committee assisted the FRC make a submission to the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) Consultation Paper "Proposals for the Oversight of the International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSASB)".

The Committee has also produced a series of papers designed to promote Australia's high quality system of public sector financial reporting, and high quality public sector financial reporting in general:

FRC Audit Quality Committee

The FRC Audit Quality Committee provided strategic advice to the FRC on the quality of audits conducted by Australian auditors. In 2016 the FRC decided that the quality of audits conducted by Australian auditors will now be discussed at FRC meetings.
